SENIOR CLASS ACTIVITIES
CLASS OF 2006

SENIOR EXAMS
Have been scheduled for Tuesday May 30 and Wednesday May 31. Students will be expected to attend school and complete their 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th hour exams during scheduled class times on May 30. On Wednesday, May 31, seniors will complete their 2nd and 7th hour exams.

CAPS/GOWNS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Announcements for Commencement should be sent out from ten days to two weeks prior to the Commencement exercise. Seniors who would like to buy extra announcements may check with the MAIN OFFICE. They are $.75 each. Caps and gowns air $45.00.

Mr. James Ross (Jostens) will be here the first part of May to deliver previously ordered caps, gowns, and invitations. Caps and gowns are to be worn at both the Commencement and the Senior Award Program. It is customary to wear the gown zipped at all times and to keep the tassel on the cap to the left. When in cap and gown, it is customary for boys to wear a shirt and tie; ladies should wear collars included in the gown package. All graduates need to wear dress shoes (see attached ceremony expectation sheet). Corsages are usually not worn, nor are purses carried.

SENIOR BANQUET-(to be announced)
The Senior Banquet is for SENIORS ONLY.

SENIOR AWARDS PROGRAM
On Thursday, June 1st, the Senior Awards Program will be held in the auditorium at 8:00 a.m. Awards will be presented to seniors at this time. Invite your parents to attend. Seniors will meet in the large gym at 7:45 a.m. in cap and gown. They will march around the school and enter the auditorium for the assembly led by the Senior Class Officers.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students will not be allowed to go through the Commencement exercises if they do NOT have at least 45 credits by the date of graduation. Again, No senior can graduate WHO DOES NOT HAVE CREDIT FOR ALL REQUIRED SUBJECTS AND A TOTAL OF 45 CREDITS IN SENIOR HIGH. Text books, dues, library books, themes, notebooks, locks, and other obligations must be taken care of prior to graduation. It is necessary that each senior be present at each engagement promptly at the times stated.

COMMENCEMENT- BRESLIN CENTER- JUNE 10, 2006.
Seniors will meet FRIDAY, JUNE 9TH from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Breslin Center for rehearsal. You must be in the area by 2:45 p.m., rehearsal will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m.

Seniors will meet SATURDAY, JUNE 10TH at 9:00 a.m. in the Breslin Center to form lines for marching. Commencement exercises will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Girls- dresses and dress shoes; Guys- ties, dress trousers, and dress shoes.

A photographer will be on hand to take a photograph of each graduate as she/he receives her/his diploma cover. Orders for the pictures are handled through the photography studio.

The Lansing School District channel (Channel 21) will videotape the graduation exercises. Viewing times will be advertised on the channel.

PARKING
Per Breslin Center site plans, parking will be facilitated for rehearsal and ceremony dates in the Breslin Center south parking lot and Kalamazoo & Harrison Road parking areas. Handicapp reserved parking spaces are on Birch Road (the east side of Breslin.) There will be NO CHARGE for parking.

DIPLOMAS
Diplomas will be passed out at the conclusion of the exercise in the lower ramp area of the Breslin Center. Diplomas will be separated alphabetically, and students should report to teachers accordingly.
