Message From the Coach:
Coach Mindy Salais

"I have been coaching softball at Eastern for the past 8 years; this will be 9. I just love the game! I've been playing softball since I was around seven years old. My father played on 3 slowpitch teams and I was always at the games watching from the dugout, shagging balls during batting practice, or playing my own softball game with the other player's kids. I didn't play fastpitch softball, because they didn't have it in our city, and I started in the 9th grade because that's when our city started playing fastpitch. In fastpitch the intensity is much greater with stealing and especially pitching. My goal as a varsity coach is to have my players compete and perform at their best at all times, to love and respect the sport, and to develop lifelong friendships with their team-mates. Today, I am still close friends with some of my high school team-mates and some of us still play softball together."
